simple question... what voodoo chant do i have to be reciting to get the blumin wheel nut covers off? that plastic tubey thing worked fine on the locking nut cover - but i ended up breaking the darn thing on the normal nut covers.

Has anyone any tips on taking them off - is there a nack to it. (its the nut caps on the boost alloys)

all i wanted to do was check the 27mm wheel brace i just bought works..........

Try squirting boiling water at the plastic covers then use flat nose pliers. Oh yes, the chant should involve a few F words and a couple of B words. Sometimes throwing your tools down to the bottom of the garden helps.

Boiling water makes them soft and pliable. To avoid the midgies, mix some body lotion and tea tree oil, rub over exposed skin. Works a treat as midgy repellant.

If it is the OEM wheel nuts for the boost alloy then only the locking nuts have a cover and they have a dimple in them to show you which one is the locking nut. The other wheel nuts don't have covers and they are removed with the wheel brace.

RTFM!

You aint sposed to remove em!

ok ok - tea tree lotion applied - and blow me the wheel brace removed the nut - (no cap...as i was told....twice...) the only thing is i think the 27mm brace is a tad undersized for the nuts (doesn't seem to get a full purchse on em) - although it fits the locking nut perfectly - do i need a bigger brace?

I though you were going to say the fact that they rust and swell the 'metal' cap, poxy idea or what
