Bloody rear tailgate!!

Why is nothing easy?? Replaced the rear tailgate seal and now the top tailgate won't close without catching the seal and pulling it out of place. I've tried adjusting the hinges but that lifts the corners of the tailgate frame out too far. It was a replacement ally frame which I bought second hand, could it have been put together wrongly or is it possible the frame could have warped without breaking the glass?

Any ideas welcome.

Classic or P38....

The RAVE manual does have instructions for fitting the new seal on a P38, and I have to say it is quite a complicated job...measuring, cutting, adjusting, remeasuring etc etc....

My bad, it's a 93 classic. Where the top tailgate arches, closing brings it into contact with the seal and pulls it free.
