Hi all
my p38 RR suspension has gone tits up again took it in to work and put it on the scanner and it came up with fr valve stuck closed cleared the codes and reset it so now its all working again but can anyone let me know where the fr valve is please is it in the main block? and can it be replaced? before it goes in to tits up mode again thanks very much

The valve is in the main valve block. You can buy overhaul kits for the valve block but I think the fault code really means it isn't getting the feedback from the front right height sensor it thinks it shhould have i.e. it's telling it to go up (or down), it doesn't get the height reading it's expecting so it's assuming that corner isn't getting the air therefore the valve must be stuck. It's not very intelligent really. If the system is now working ok, the most likely fault is the front right ride height sensor giving erroneous readings. It may need changing but have a look at the connector first to make sure it's all clean and dry. The sensors are just potentiometers so any bad connection will give increased resistance and so erroneous readings. Maybe a session on the diagnostics (the software from RSW solutions is excellent) will show whether a sensor is on its way out.

So will i. Many problems with EAS are caused because of false sensor readings confusing the ECU. The sensors readings have to be linier, if they are not and you get the same reading in two or more places or no reading at all. The ECU stops playing properly picks up it's ball and buggers off home.
