Bloody rain!

Ouch, I've had that before. The bits bounce about and end up going through the vents. Hope it heals soon.

Thanks. Yesterday I got the panhard rod bushes and lower rear trailing arm bushes done. I went to the pub quiz in it last night and the handling has been transformed already even without the other side being done or the radius arms...... Just mega ****ed off about not being in a fit state to carry on and its raining.

One other thing.... I nearly ran myself over with the landy. I left it out of gear which I never do and had the front on axle stands to refit the steering guard. I took off the rear trailing arm and the car rolled half way down the ramp with the rear wheel moving forward. Scared the crap out of me.... Didn't realise that you don't have to remove the 3 17mm nuts/bolts with the trailing arm in place either so wasted about an hour with the seized bolts which I could have got to far easier. When I do the other side it should be a far simpler job.... I need to befriend someone locally who is crap with electrics, owns a Defender and has a barn and preferably a 4 post lift :)

I sent several hours last night in hospital getting home at 6am having got a piece of metal in my eye from using the grinder. It managed to get past my safety glasses so now I have that to contend with as well as the rain. I can't even leave it because one of the lower rear axle arms is poly bushed and the other isn't! Will probably have to leave the radius arms for now......

Oh dear, have been their before too. Last one I left it for over a week thinking it'd go away, it didn't and had to go to the hospital eventually, it had grown a skin over it in the time, could hear them scraping it away with a needle (Shudder!)
Hope it's alright soon and you can finish what you started.

a number of industrial notices i see at work regarding grinder swarf and eyes means i use safety glasses and a face shield when grinding.....

i like my eyes - and along with my hands i would be lost if i lost any of them....

Well I've added the full face shield to my VAT free Machine Mart Clarke order ready for Sunday so that should sort that. Queue small violins........ Managed to do the offside trailing arm but it was a close call so will leave the last two bits, the radius arms till it's dry and my eyes are better. My todo list is much shorter now and the Landy handles much better. I could get the radius arms done for £70 but not sure I want to part with any cash and the more work I do the more I learn.

Had that happen to me years ago. They dug it out of my eyeball with a needle at the hospital!

Good job you got it out, though, they can cause problems with MRI scanning and so on later if left in. ;)
