Just gone to wind my drivers side window up and it would not move!

So head torch on, door card off to find the bit that all the window winder gubbins etc attatches to is floating lose at the hinge end of the door and the window channel is just flopping about lose too!

The bottom of the door has been repaired ok ish but the front end of the door is just full of botched welding and micky mouse repairs!

Got the window to wind up after a bit of faffing but for the time being I can't stick me elbow out the window to steer so I'm fooked for driving it :D:D

I'll stick a proper thread up in the 90/110/130 section tomorrow with some pics but for now I'm off to do a door repair thread search!

It's easy mate buy a new winder assy around 15£ you might need the channels that go on the bottom of the glass but they're cheap as well twill then be all good !!!

The frame is shot to bits too, I'll be scrounging a few bits of box section from some where soon!

The channel that the window runs in a totally shaggered an awl!

Winder and channel not a bad job, its better if you have a helper to hold the glass while putting it all back together, but not essential. Also there is adjustment on the winder to level up the top of the window.

You havent developed the right arm position yet. Wedge it in next to the door and leave it there and steer with just movements through the wrist. If you follow the easiest route of only driving with the window open you'll end up with a truckers tan and and cold all winter

Welcome to the wonderful life of being a Landy Owner! :D :D :D

Being a Land Rover owneer means you're lucky. The rear passenger window on my Audi stopped working and it cost me £230, and it's only 9 years old!

Whilst we all moan about how Land Rovers break, I have found running two vehicles the same age, an Audi and a Defender, that I'd sooner the Land Rover break every time. For example, last week, on the Audi - replace glow plugs cost me £159. Replace o/s rocker cover gasket cost £167!!!!

I'll go and get some pictures in a mo, just got back from rescuing very hung over weddin guests from random places.
