Hi Guys (and gals)

I'm a new Landy owner and am straight in at the deep end. I have a 93 v8efi auto with a major oil leak from an unknown location. Whole engine just covered with oil. Aside from that it runs well so I have decided to pull it out, clean it up and replace the gaskets and seals and cross my fingers the leak is not a cracked block or the like. No bearing rumble so I am hoping the crank is still ok, wil check when the sump is off. Only minor tappet noise so I hope there will be no internal damaged from oil starvation.

Anyway, I've been making it up as I go because I don't have a manual yet, besides it's only nuts and bolts. lol. Anyway I have removed everything (exhaust manifold, ps pump, alternator, MAF and electrical connections) from the passenger side of the engine and also from the front (water pump, aircon pump, rad/fan) and tomorrow I plan on clearing the drivers side. Then I can undo the mounts and gearbox bolts.

Finally I get to the question. What is the best way to release the mounts? Undo the lower nut and leave the bracket and rubber fitted to the block, or undo the bracket and rubber from the block?

Also, how many bolts connect the engine to the auto gearbox? Just so I dont get heavy handed trying to pull the engine with the gearbox still attached.

Oh yeh if there is anyone around the South Essex area this week and weekend with nothing better to do than watch and help a newbi numpty at work and drink my tea and coffee all day, let me know. Moral support always welcome as are helping hands and minds.

Michael
