For use with flint?

What've you got in mind? I've found that its nearly impossible to pull the striker like you would with modern spark kits and get a decent spark.....Good to have the strike mounted in a wooden block so it can be held stable about 2" above the tinder and strike down unto it

yes to use with flint,i find a piece of char cloth held on top of the flint as you strike works fine everytime, the strikers dont have to be as elaborate as the pic though

Cool, are you in a hurry? Only my set up is in storage as I've just moved schools and not set up at the other end yet.....still setting up an outdoor shelter. Having said that I could rig something up in my workshop.....

no,no rush at all,but it is somthing id like to observe being done if at all possible' you know fire, hammers, anvil's and all :D big boy's toy's

bushcraft, fishing, shooting, the general outdoors tbh, making a fire the primative way is so much more satisfying than lighter or matches,it's a knowledge everyone should have i think :)

would there be anything in particular you would require for the process,eg fuel?
