My wife told me last night she thought something was wrong with the FL(53), when putting her foot down it struggles at the top end..
Today she has gone out and it is blowing black smoke intermittently out of the back..

Any Ideas?? Not had a look or drive yet myself..

Thanks

Can anyone tell me which hose this is?

possibly PNH000020 ... just replaced mine on my td4.
also have a look and see what's caused it to chafe!! all the air your turbo is compressing and intercooler cooling is being vented through the split before it gets to your inlet manifold...black smoke monster is born :0)

it chafes on the screw holding the plastic air chamber on the top of the engine.

common fault, buy the silicone replacement ones if you can.

there on fleabay.

If you angle the new hose slightly when fitting to the plastic inlet it will miss the fixing screw, or you can use a piece of the old pipe as a cover which will protect the pipe in the future.

Help, i am being told 2 different part numbers for this.

VIN no 3A290347, do i need the one with the sensor?

currently the one on it does not have one??

The one i fitted was the later version with the sensor (guy salmon £30 ish) but my vin starts 18A and already had the sensor fitted. The reason the pipe rubs on the inlet screw is due to the pipe swelling due to oil contamination so the suggestion to fit the alternative silicone pipe is a better long term alternative.

Thanks Guys,

So i have the correct part. Collected from Steve Parker Rochdale, very helpful, 3rd time i have used them..

How do i fit it. I cant get a 6mm socket on the clip to undo it. Do i need to remove something to be able to get to it??

Thanks Again

The best way is to get a small socket and ratchet 1/4 inch drive, you can normally just get it on. its a stupid design. Good luck.

The head of the lower hose clip on my TD4 was obstructed by the metalwork, I used a small open ended spanner to unfasten the clip. A slow job as not much room to move the spanner.
