Good Afternoon All,

As you will gather from the Title I am new Member.

I have a 2005 L322 Td6 Range Rover Vogue.

I currently have a black smoke issue. Can anyone help?

it could be the egr valve... maybe stuck or no good. or the turbo on its way or gone. plug in to see what faults come up.

Thank you for all the advice.
Last night I took a look at the Crank Breather and I think this has neve been changed. New one ordered today. I also have oil deposits on two breather pipes near the dipstick and on the inner engine wall.
Do you think that the breather has got something to do with my issue?

Black smoke is not engine oil being burned. Smoke from that would be blue. Black smoke is as said earlier, to much fuel or to little air.

how many miles are on it? Have you checked, changed your air filter. Mice could of built a home in the air intake/filter assembly. or chucked full if insects dead or alive

Bad fuel/air mix, over fuelling for whatever reason, nothing to do with oil, that would create bluish smoke.

Black Smoke Issue Update.

Having removed all the covers in the engine bay i found that a vacuum pipe had come off. so as not to take any chances i have replaced the EGR Valve and whilst under the bonnet upgraded the Crankcase Breather Filter.

Took it for a blast and No Black Smoke.(Well Chuffed).

Thank you all for your help and guidance.
