Went to remove my doors and bonnet, but realised that i don't have the driver bit i need! Looking to buy tomorrow, but does anybody know what size they are?

The bolts are hex head, rather than torx that i've seen elsewhere. its a 1988 defender.

Thanks

If female hex, Allen key set, doubt you will get individual ones on a Sunday

Not concerned if i need to buy a set.

What do you mean female hex? Its a very large philips driver i need, but no idea what size it is / what its called. Any idea?

If it's a recessed hexagon hole it suggests someone has replaced the screws. In which case a set of hex keys should suffice. But you also mention a Phillips head. I'd guess it's more likely to be a no 4 pozidrive than a Phillips if that's the case.

Suppose a photo from the start may have helped!

So No4 Pozidrive.... lets see if i can source that on a Sunday!

Thanks!

In you initial post you said the bolt have a hex head, now a normal hex head bolt will not fit in the recessed hinge holes so I naturally assumed you had allen key bolts, then you post up a pic of a large pozi screw which is most definitely not a hex head.
Ps nightmare to undo if not been out for a long time which yours look like.

Get yourself an impact driver whilst you're at it!
Mine came from Halfrauds a zillion years ago and it had a No 4 Pozi with it.
Give them a good soak with either a releasing fluid or a bit of doozil out of your tank ;);)

Was just about to write the same. The impact driver made light work of the bolt, which was otherwise not budging!
