Hi all,

I recently bought a td4 freelander 2.0tdi on a 2000 plate.

Drives nice and smothe, starts first time ect but have found a gremlin under the Bonet.

Every now and again under acceleration the engine management light comes on and white smoke comes from exhaust.
The engine Carry’s on running fine no loss of power and no detectable missing.

Stop the engine and restart, no engine management light no more smoke.

The water levels are fine, there is no over heating issues, the oil level is fine and oil on the dipstick looks fine (not creamy) .

Has anyone encounters a problem like this and if so did you find out what the issue was ?

If anyone could advise me on this one that would be great, I’m thinking it may be a fuelling issue but could be wrong...

Thanks in advance guys and girls

Inter one. The normal cause for the light under load, would be down to the low pressure fuel pump. But it's worthwhile checking all the sensors for bad or corroded contacts. The high pressure fuel rail sensor is known to suffer from corrosion issues, which can cause all sorts of odd faults.
