plenty of info on here and various other places on the internet

that company say "always 10p" cheaper than morrisons

THATS PROPER EXPENSIVE!!!!

Run mine on b100. Started off at b30 for a while no probs.
It is cheaper but tends to do less to the gallon, so.......
I like the recycling and cleaner side to it.

b30 = 70% normal + 30% bio
b100 = 100% bio
I just paid £1.02 a litre for bio. But it changes when pump prices do.
b100 is better in summer

I know.
The debate on bio in lots of cars has been done to death without any definitive answer.
I guess ya pays your money ya take your chances :)

Whilst I agree the bio vs non bio has been done to death. I'm not sure I'd want to risk damaging expensive injectors for a saving of a few pence per litre. A good remap would improve the Mpg and drive ability without damaging injectors. Obviously bio has some environmental benefits, but so does improving the engine efficiency when running on normal diesel.
Just my opinion.

Well according to the ginger winker (watchdog) last night, the small % of bio being added to all diesel under EU law is causing problems for lots of folks and is stated now as being a big industry problem.
Folk with new cars that are conking out are being told they are using the "wrong" fuel. The only diesel I know that could be the "right" fuel would be BP ultimate.

Easy to remember rule of thumb:

if you have a TD4 - don't use it

if you have an L series - fill up on the stuff

I believe most biodiesel issues arise because it thickens when it's cold,blocking the filter. So cars that preheat the fuel don't suffer this problem to any real degree as the fuel can pass through the filter. Obviously those vehicles that don't preheat the fuel can suffer filter blocking.

They also mention that bio diesel cleans all the gunk out if ya tank....This could clog up filters etc...

I got the leaflet through me door thought I'd get a heads up first...[emoji106]

I've heard this - best to change the filter after switching to bio (not sure how long after) as it will dislodge and drag a load of crap through the system that was in it from 'normal' use.

Yes bio will clean the crap out of the fuel system,
so most find a filter change is needed,
but when will depend on how much crap is in there.

For real savings you need to make your own, you can also control the quality, which is sometimes hit and miss with commercail bio.

i don't know anywhere up here that does b100
If you Google biodiesel outlets you'll see that there are hardly any across the whole uk. Manafacturers are even fewer.
Yes fuel filter may need to be changed. When does depend, as said.

Bin there done that pain in the arse, yes it may be cheaper, but you travel further to get it,so thats time and fuel wasted, changing filters, thats more time and money, and more money if someone has to change filters for you:rolleyes:. 1 mile to my nearest garage I'll fill up with normal diesel thanks.

illy

PS oh sorry your doing it to save the world aren't you.

A few years ago there seemed to be a craze for selling bio but everybody round here has stopped doing it and I can't find any of the stuff anywhere. Is it not viable to produce any more?

put simply the government stopped subsidising commercial operations via tax breaks etc.

many make their own home brew i use to but switched to 100% svo in the summer and 95% svo 5% unleaded in the winter on the wifes old motor runs a treat. judt wish my p38 was diesel to as i pay 50ppl for svo just off now to pick up this months supply
