According to which paper you read, ITV1 may have a prog about biodiesel tonight (Mon) (or about used chipfat, as the Guardian says). Probably won't tell us anything we don't know, but when the wide world find out about it the price will no doubt go up a bit, and the availability take a nosedive.

I saw the last 20 mins or so it was aload of old crap. They did say you could just filter used oil through a J cloth then bung it in the tank. Might cause a few problems for some people:eek:

The programme was a load of tosh, that Wilson bloke would not commit himself to what vehicle mods if any are require or what make of engine the chip oil could be used safely with, he got others to say "speek to your vehicle's manufacture", It's easy just filter the chip oil through a 'J' cloth and add chemical, what that was he wouldn't say and thats it, job done.

The programme was centered around a Fish & Chip shop in Blackpool and their clapped out Transit that ran happly on their used oil.

The best part was the petrol engined 4x4 Merc which the owner payed £12K two years ago.
The owner was advised by a car sales man if he took on and sell the Merc which he wouldn't, the price he would ask would be £6K. The owner still owed £7.5K.

the chemical you speak of was white spirit. its used to thin the oil a bit. jim why you say did you hear that gamekeeper? theres nout wrong with filtering it. its runs fine like that and thats how thousands of people do it.my mate has been running his disco on pure used veg oil for roughly 25,000 miles and hasnt had a single problem. in that time he has easily saved enough money to buy 3 of his disco's before anyone starts saying what about the damage.
