Bike Rack - 3dr hardback?

Picking up my Freelander tomorrow ('04 Sport TD4) and I need to consider the best way to carry two bikes. It has the roof rail kit but having done SW searching I also see there are racks which fit to spare wheel although this idea confuses me as spare is off centre?!?

Anyway what have people found is the best solution? They need to be carried in the most secure way on the outside of the vehicle leaving maximum room in the boot.

No worries, it is worth getting used to the search function though but sometimes a straight answer is required

i've got Simbars from a Disco (donated by my bro) i had to do a bit of cutting, welding and drilling to get it to fit Freelander.

i can get four bikes on it but don't as it would be too heavy for the door, probly

Personal preference, i didn't fancy lifting three bike above my head to get them on the roof

i sling em on the back and plug in the light board....away we go
