I have a battery drain on my P38 considered to be a Becm problem i.e. I need a new one.

Just a thought, can I fit a more powerful battery so the drainage takes 4 days rather than 2 say? So the battery is the same size physically but holds more charge?

Cheers in advance.

you can certaintly fit a bigger amp hr battery, only limited by the physical size of the battery tray. doubt if itll give you twice as long though.

maybe better to get another battery and have tother one on charge at home?

also quick change battery terminals perhaps?

Have you seen the size of the battery in there?! I don't think I've seen many bigger car batteries!

If I remember correctly, mine is 107Ah!

Did you try fitting the replacement RF receiver part that seems to fix most peoples battery drain problems?

Just a thought - can you not leave it hooked up to a slow charger overnight?

Matt

Yes, I tried the RF receiver thing removing the double wire plug i.e. diabling the antenna, made no difference. I was due to sell the car when i discovered the problem, so i thought if I could lengthen the life of the battery charge that would be acceptable. I'm too consientious to sell the car as it is.

Hello
I have a similar problem. I think think I am going to buy a battery conditioner. They are electronic and do not dish out spikes. And they are handy if you have to leave the car say for a couple of weeks they just keep the battery topped up.
