big tyres big problems?

Have put big tyres on disco series 1 200tdi. Now rubbing on lock. What do I do to stop this and how?

Adjust the steering lock stops.

There is a bolt that stick out of the hubs that rescrict the steering, undo the lock nut and undo the bolt. ( Makeing the stop longer)till the oposite wheel dont catch then do the same on the other side.

BTW makes it a total pain in the arse to park

Had to do same on mine

Thanks for that. Have found a workshop manual download via a member so now have a clue (?). Would putting wheel spacers on have any effect?

It would yea but remember you have to put a spacer on all 4 wheels,

Plus why pay a couple of hundred quid for some spacers.

Also when you put the spacers on you move the wheel to nearer the wing so that may cause another problem.

and yer spacers increase the wear rate of yer wheel bearings etc

Thankyou all. Steering stops it is then. Will attempt over the festive (?) period. If the weather here in Manchester improves (yeah right).

Next question.
Front seats are not well at all. Plenty on flea-bay but not for series 1 200tdi 3dr. Will any later model seats fit in or only the type I have?
