Evening all,

Had a day off work today so I went vogue shopping!! Been to see 10 different l322's today. All described as immaculate and in full working order. 5 of them I didn't even get inside as they were that rough looking through the windows, 2 had a shudder at 50mph, and two were way overpriced for 02/03 models with circa 100k and on original gearboxes (15k)

And then I made a mistake, on my way home, drove past or main dealer and thought "wonder if they have anything"

Ended up taking a test drive in an immaculate 08 tdV8, 60k on the clock. I think I might have fallen for it. Can be Mine for a grand total of 25k, or when sat drinking the free coffee at the salesmans desk, it's just £250 a month for 3 years, with my own car, and 10k

The worst is I'm actually thinking about it, wasn't tempted at all till they "forced" me to test drive it.

What to do what to do?

The TDV8 is AWESOME...and yes 15K is way over rpiced for a 02/03 on original boxes...

Be warned, from what I have heard the TDV8's do eat Alternators at 60k intervals...so ensure you get a GOOD warranty from the dealer that will cover it!

If you have the dosh, the maths work out and you can justify the extra Tax and can handle the envy of many one here...you could do worse...just read and re-read the warranty inclusions and more importantly the exclusions...

Buy an L322 with your head Never with your heart...the repair costs can be shocking unless you are willing to DIY and learn!

Must look at that, but according would get one year landrover warranty, incl LR assist

Majority of the L322s I see about still look very tidy. However, popped into the supermarket on the weekend and saw one with a dent on every panel, awful paint job on the driver's door, condensation in rear lights, etc. Looked a right state! I really don't understand how anyone can let their car end up like that but I guess some just don't care.

For 12 months you can sleep easy. The warranty they give you is the same as for a new car, that's why main dealers are always the most expensive place to buy a used motor. Main dealers love warranty work, it's a nice little earner. They'll let you extend after 12 months for a kings ransom but might be worth it because they're not really diy friendly at the moment, and forget arms and legs you'll have to donate your whole body to repair it!!

if you can have a reserve of say 2-3k/yr then you will be ok....maybe.

Friend of a friend had a TDV8 that's engine went Kaput a few months out of warranty, he's fighting the case that LR at least meet him half way, if they don't a new engine fitted by a main dealer is going to set him back £15000:eek:
