A tad yes! Lucky could have easily snapped the pin!

How was the off roading?

Superb mate, sailed round and felt much more capable than the d2 with traction control. Missus felt much safer in it :)
Was a good little course wasn't it? Ideal for the bfg at's

Here's the bottom pin of the shock

@KISSMYAURA you're right pal, sticky wastegate whatsername thing!

Just freeing it off now, noticed this

20180803_115731.jpg

Smells like diesel, seems dry on back of engine. Regulators the other side isn't it  head gasket?

leaking manifold gasket id think,if you remove manifold and rear port is the only wet one you need to investigate why

Ok sound, there's no soot around any of the ports but the bits of the gasket between the ports are rattly when you tap them? There is a bit of **** built.up around that 1 port as you can prob see. Manifold feels tight.

What could be causing that other than a failed gasket/warped Manifold?

We go on holiday tomorrow, will it keep until we get back? Using landy as we're camping

manifold could be warped a little if its much it tends to snap nuts off or the securing studs, gaskets dont last forever due to the movement caused by the heat cycles,if everything is running ok then probably ok to leave it till you get back

Rapid fire response here sorry James!

Did Wolverhampton to w-s-m and back yesterday, ran faultlesslly so should be ok.

Bit shocked at how much more thirsty it is compared to the disco td5!

Think I'll change the gasket as a kick off and monitor it

Thirsty?

check yer transfer brake is not binding and all wheels spin freely ( been caught out like that before!)
Only other thing is best cruising speed is 50-60, on a run ( in disco bet you used to 70-80!)
My def td5 is superb on juice, BUT I had to to slow down a bit first, and train my lead foot, R380 is also a odd, always forgetting to pit it into 5th for UK non motorway driving, sounds obvious but easy to forget your pushing a tractor shaped like a brick that weighs best part of 2 tons!

I did have a slight judder setting off but took my wading plug out for a few days and it stopped so put it down to clutch contamination. I'll check brake tomorrow!

I keep it at 60-65 on m-way but may well have to drop 5mph see if it makes a difference, gonna take some getting used to after the discos long legs :D

Pretty used to r380 tbf, went round in the disco 30mph in 5th and this is even better at it so always in highest gear possible. I suspect transmission brake now you've mentioned it o_O

Completely possible, havent noticed anything but will have a good look around it. Stopped at services to splash £20 of diesel in on way back yesterday. We'd been going at speed for about an hour and when I took the fuel cap off, there was wisps of steam/smoke coming out the filler neck o_O I put it down to fuel being hot but got me thinking now if it's related

Proper job that though, nice finish to it

cheers mate, will be when i get the skirting on it the mrs has chosen oak aka 'expensive',

Just baton, 12mm ply and 2 mist coats of matt.
used a small air brad nailer ( part of the reason i need a new compressor I tell the wife ;);););) so i can finish all the woodwork in the house!) as the current one is fooked, and I have to keep kicking it to re pressure, I am sure its the switch but cant be arsed to fit a new one its only a 25lt ok for spraying etc but naff all else.

Fits well, this will work. I'll make it work.

Going to be safer than what I've got with bench seat, bolts missing and bracket holding seat backs to body are ****.

Me and matey have a couple of ideas, favourite is weld 2 lengths of flat bar horizontal to scenic seat rails, with angle welded to those dropping either side of original tubular frame and bolt through. Or underneath like a clamp.

Drill and fix into sides of outer 2 seats and secure to original seat back brackets. Theyre there and original, use em.

Secure folding bar underneath the original frame to floor to further strengthen against tipping forward.

All just ideas at the moment, will update as it goes on.

Im liking this idea. Ive been looking at rear seat options since I bought my 110 and not found anything decent yet bar fitting front seats in the rear. Which could be a little large!

These seats could be a good idea
