My battery in my Disco 300TDI is just not holding charge so it's time for a replacement. I have a LR branded new battery (I think it's from a new range rover) given to me, but its massive in size and won't fit in the existing battery location.

So the question: is there an alternative battery location that I can use for a much larger battery or am I better off getting another battery that's the right size?

Many years ago i had a mate who had a escort van ,he was always a skinflint and one day his battery failed ,so rather than spend money on a new one suitable for the escort ,he bought a huge battery off a guy in the pub for cheap money and put it in the back of the escort van ,he then modified his jump leads and hey presto the van started fine ,he ran it like that for years until he sold it on for scrap.
