Bought a 'rebuilt' height sensor an ebay for the back to get her off the ground and keep me going for xmas. Had it on a day when i went over some rough ground and bang, wallop... sensor comes off the mounting and she sits down like a stubborn child:( looks like the back of the sensor was glued to the mount with mushy peas:p took it off and smothered it in locktite, added tie wraps for piece of mind. are OEMs glued???

Ultrasonically welded I think but it could be glue. I can't see any way you can re-con a height sensor unless you have access to new printed circuit boards. I would guess it's just been opened up and the tracks cleaned. They are not easy to open without damage, I've done it.

Somebody has bent you over a barrel and pulled your pants down. Hope the pain doesn't last too long. These items cannot be repaired. Everybody reading this remember that.

Cheers Datatek, was thinking the same... am going to replace all of them soon enough anyway. Just want to make sure people know what they're buying and don't go on a long trip without tools after installing one of these;)

If it was described as rebuilt you are on a winner, parts to do that are simply not available. Think he meant to say cut open and put back together.

Why would anyone open a working sensor?
Answer: if its not "working"
Which usualy means its on a oneway trip to the tip even if its opened and cleaned the track inside will be fecked
