on mine a td4 , just pulled the bottom rad pipe off and refilled it via the header tank

done the same with mine, hose pipe,

if I remember put in oats 50/50 then started the engine with the cap off , filled up as required the vented heater matrix

also bleed the head it is a must if you still have the jiggle pin in. when you have filled up with water/ antifreeze mix take the small hose off the header tank and blow into it and this will open the jiggle pin and let water into the head failing to do this can or more than probably will destroy the head gasket and or the head. you have been warned!

Turn heater to hot.
Open bleed valve on heater hose and pour in coolant.
When no more air, close it and open valve on pipe (8mm bolt if i remember correctly). Close when no more air.
Blow down small pipe as suggested.
Now no air coming from either valves start engine and top up coolant as required.
Double check both bleed points several times as engine warms up.
Make sure water flowing freely from small pipe into header tank.
Keep an eye on it for a few days as may need more topping up.
