Want to make mine into a king cab,

What's the best thing to use to get a nice straight cut?

Not tried it on a vehicle, but if you are using a jigsaw could you rivet a length of straight bar to the waste side of the cut and use it as a guide fence for the jigsaw?

Was thinking a straigh edge, wonder if I can get a metal cutting blade for my 18v makita circular saw.

Those teeth might turn out to be a wee bit coarse for cutting thin sheet. Is there anything a bit finer on offer anywhere?

Not that I've seen that was just a quick look tho. Maybe something like a cutting disc for a grinder if I could find one the right size, well correct bore overall width could go down if needed.

I'd go for careful marking, a steady hand and a thin cutting disk.

I'd say a circular saw was too coarse and powerful and a jigsaw prone to the blade wandering off 90 degrees when cutting through channels.

My dad has a plasma, he said clamp a steel straight edge and run the plasma up the for a straight cut.

There's also a fein at my dads house, there's ALOT of stuff at my dads I'll probably do it there in his nice warm garage instead of my cold drive

Your dad sounds like an ideal dad! I've raided my parent's shed and came away with 2 rusty screwdrivers.

There's alsorts, tools for every building trade and lots of snap on tools and other stuff like a mini digger and hydrolic log spliter to name a few. And alot of my crap

ive a circular saw blade on my bench saw which cuts through thin sheet lovely,

I wouldnt use a jigsaw

Im with bb - thin slitting disc and careful marking

plasma cutter is the way to go
first check on a scrap piece or alloy
make sure it cuts it, and not melts it

some plasma cutters are not designed for cutting alloy
