205/80 was a factory standard for 90's. The 110s do look a bit low with them. Standard 16" steel wheels will cope with both (opens can of worms), but nothing much wider.
Your 110 will benefit from 10% higher gearing with the larger tyres, and maybe even a better ride - tyre dependant of course.
Long wheel base Landies were equipped as standard with 7.50 x 16 tyres for decades, and they are not particularly wide. Unless you're planning on doing a lot of mud work, very wide tyres are not always a good idea.

Cheers zeaphod

The tyres I have at the moment do look ridiculous. I am basically looking for something that I can have as a spare set for winter/bad weather and occasional work.

So 235/80 should fit my currenwithout any problems? wothout

7.50x16 were offered as an option on Ninetys, and are probably a better tyre for the than 205 80 16s, which as yu say were standard.
Sadly 7.50x16 seem to be ridiculously expensive these days. :(

I thought 7.5 is the standard size and everything else is an option. All my fenders have had those.

My preference (and Landrover BTW) is 235/85 MT Goodyear Wrangler.

Excellent in wet and dry conditions, looks the part too.

Was discontinued by Goodyear due to noise regulations but last year reconfigured and passed. Now factory option.

Back in the day Wrangler were a very good tyre! :) And I am sure the new ones are too.

I think one of the insas is a copy of them, cant remember which atm.
