I currently have General Grabber AT2 265s fitted. However whitin the next year I probably need to get a new set of tires.

As I most often just drive on tarmac I consider going back to some road tires which have good milages. I know it will be difficult to compete with the AT2 which have now 70k miles on the clock and I bet there is another 15k miles left. But anyway - as good milages as possible.

I have BFG KM2 tires for the fun part - so don't be too concerned :)

What would you recommend as a good road tyre in 235/85-16?

I have BFG all terrains in that size. Expensive but bloody good Id say. Also, it's a nice size, quite large for ground clearance, road surface contact and good looks, but also not too big that the turnin circle becomes a problem.

Thanks for the input guys, Coopers could be an option...!

In terms of the AT2's. They do well in snow but not deep snow. Then I would prefer MTs.
Ive siped my AT2 which helped a lot on both noice and grip in wet + light snow.

have you considered the general at? my wife's fl2 has them.
they are pretty good in dry conditions, and superb in bad weather i.e rain, snow etc
having experienced them ,thats what i would put on my defender if i wanted a fairly road biased tyre
