best place to put a winch solonoid

hi all

Any ideas were the best place is to put a winch solonoid on my 90. I have seen them mounted on the grill. Can't seem to see a good place under the bonnet.

Any ideas

Under the drivers seat with the lead adapter monted on the front of the box

As above or on bulkhead. yu is limited only by the amount of cable you can afford, also remember thickest cable you can afford/will fit.

under the bonnet.

A wise old pixie once told me to always lift yo bonnet when winching, so if the cable snaps, it just makes a dent in the bonnet and dont go thru the screen and kills ya.
so fitting it under the bonnet reminds ya every time.

will see if I can make room some were under the bonnet. Has any one got photos were they have put their solonoid

my albrite is behind the radiator grill

On a previous vehicle I had a winch on I had mine on the front grill, I couldn't find anywhere much better and I was advised to keep cables as short as possible, not just because of cost but because ease of fitment and on the grill meant it was fairly easy to plug in the controller. If you are planing on getting serious you might want to think about buying an additional controller socket and wiring it up in parallel with the original to give you a choice of where to plug in so if you bury your nose in the mud you don't have to plug in at the front. I had a second socket on the dash towards the passenger side on mine.
