hello all
i'am wondering where is the best place to buy a defender 130 or 110 project vehicle as none of the defender 130's on eBay are projects and are not in my budget. also what would be the gear to put onto it if I wanted to use it for overlanding? also what should I stay clear of and not even think of putting onto it?
prefer a 300tdi or a td5

There's quite a few defender/land rover selling Facebook groups that might be worth joining.
 
A lot depends on your budget and how soon you want it. Perhaps an ex military ambulance or command vehicle would suit as the base for an overlander.
 
I got mine from a salvage company, accident damaged, rusty chassis, stolen recovered. Got a new galv chassis and rebuilt it.
Turned out I'm a bit of a perfectionist and practically replaced everything and reconditioned the rest which cost a lot more than I would have liked but it's given me a rust free, fairly trouble free, truck for 16yrs now.

budget is probably around £5,000.00 to buy the vehicle not sure how much for the parts and accessories rather go for a double cab 130 or 110 station wagon but that is a good idea

Have PM you some more pics and some more details.

Hope they are of use, have been very honest re the condition of the vehicle, if i didnt already have a 90 and the other 110 would consider it as a project of my own...
