best oil for TD6?

Any good/bad experiences with brands of oil? Am about to do oil change on 80k 2002 L322 TD6 adn wondered which oil to use? have been told Castrol Edge 0w-30 Turbo Diesel Oil fully Synthetic? Any thoughts?

Use casrol 5w 30 synthetic

Hi. Many thanks for your reply. Thought maybe i had transgressed some deadly LRZ taboo as no-one seemed to be interested in talking oil! The reason I asked is because I have been told by a former LR RR expert to use O 30 or 54 O fully synth (THis is the L322 TD6 on a 2002) - can you confirm your suggesion is correect for my engine? Really appreciate your time and effort.

I know this is an old thread but for future reference use 5w30, its what this engine used through all its development and so its what it runs on the best. Castrol is the recommended brand and is used as factory fill but if you want to use another brand that shouldnt be a poroblem as long as it meets the same specs.

better still use Edge Turbo Diesel 5W-40 .
