L322 Best diagnostics calibration

Hi all, been a little while since I posted about my ABS problems, I have managed to sort out the problem by replacing the drivers front cv joint and ABS sensor, but came up with a toothed wheel error. With some perseverance from my husband, he managed to get the reluctor ring into the right place and yet again, had to replace the ABS sensor. But we had to replace the steering angle sensor before hand. The steering angle sensor needs calibrated to the car and my current icarsoft doesn’t have the option to calibrate anything. What is best diagnostics that can calibrate things to the car? I am on a tight budget due to needing to fix the cv joint, ABS sensors twice, steering angle sensor and the coolant tank which split last month. But by any chance anyone near me by the Dumfriesshire/Cumbrian border let me borrow their diagnostics for a second or few just to calibrate my steering angle sensor just to get the dreaded three amigos lights out?

It may be different with a new steering angle sensor but normally it's just full lock left to right. May need to disconnect the battery for a bit first and using the correct battery disconnect procedure.

I have done the lock to lock hoping that would do, but diagnostics say the angle sensor needs recalibrated to the car, as it is a second hand one I had bought to replace my failed one.

Yes, this is a problem with the icarsoft diagnostics, as mine doesn’t have an option to code anything to the car. Any chance of a recommendation of diagnostic tool that can do such a task as coding and calibrating things to the rangie?

im luck in that i can borrow a professional one

I have a Foxwell and haven't seen a coding option although I'm too far away anyway.

The steering angle sensor is a plug and play.
If it's second hand it may be be damaged.
2.5 to 3 turns per side. There is a ribbon inside and if it's over wound in any direction it'll damage the ribbon.

If there is an ecu in it then yes.

each one has a different code number that needs to be set in the abs, ask me how many different ones i fitted before i found that out, and how peeved the parts guy was with the number i was saying were faulty

The squib steering wheel end has a ribbon and has placed in the right position yes but not the sas which is at the bottom of steering colomn its just a carbon track and needs to be told when steering wheel is centered (been there done that), Foxwell nt 530 has the option to calibrate the sas wether it works or not I do not know BMW inpa also has the option to do it but its not so easy working which buttons to press @stustrong might have a clue on that but the info is out there on some BMW forums.

I'm sticking with my 38'...
I deal with modern shi... Cars all day... Audis boot lock... À switch to say the lock has clamped, a switch to say its has started to pull it into place, a switch to say it has been pulled into place, a switch to confirm it has stopped pulling it into place. A switch to say it's in position... Wtf... I personally shut my boot lids... I know they are both In place or they rattle....

Not sure if this means it codes before calibration
