Bent Track Rod

General consensus required.

I replaced my trackrod today as the original ends were worn, so replaced the whole thing with the idea being to fit the original with new OME ends. All done, but the one I took off is slightly bowed. This did not effect the steering at all, but should I re-use it? I wanted to keep one as a spare for our next trip.

what would you do?

get a length of thick wall tubing Low carbon water pipe is good and fit it over the bent trackrod it shud straighten it if it int too badly bent. and it'll be stronger and sorted.

Though bent int a problem as long as tracking is ok.

Ok, that just firms up what I thought. should have just put the OME ends on the allmakes rod that I just fitted :doh: see how long these 'el cheapo' ends last. With keep the bowed one for a spare then. getting tracking done tomorrow just to confirm its correct, cannot be dealing with 5 ruined KM2's that just cost me my arms and legs!

We used to weld angle to the new track rods for a cheap diy upgrade. Still bent them but nowhere near as easily. Then we fitted thick dia tubing (although could only grub screw them on for ALROC rules which were better now days you can get soild bars for £60 is not worth plugging the welder in
