Hi there. I'm currently trying to replace the belts on my 200tdi. I've got one belt going from the engine pulley to the alternator which although I've loosened, I cant seem to get the belt off. It has plenty of wear left on the teeth so I tightened it back up and might just leave it. More pressing is the other belt. This goes in a triangle from the engine to the fan to the power steering pump and the lack of teeth and slackness suggests it might be the reason for my lack of power steering. I've taken it off and the part number on the side says AVX10 - 1125 La which corresponds to a Chevy I think. It's about 110cm long in any case.

Is this the right set up ie. one short belt for the alternator and one long one for everything else? If it is right, does anyone have a part number for the 110cm long belt so I can replace.

Yes, set-up sounds right -see pic.
If it's a Disco 200tdi then belt no is ERR810 -http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/5672/ERR810-DRIVE-BELT-FAN-PAS-PUMP.html?search=fan belt&page=1
not sure if 'Fender version is the same, or not

Thanks for replying so quickly. My engine doesn't look anything like that though. I've added a photo showing alternator on top and power steering pump below. Needs a good wash.

avx10 means the teeth pattern and its 10mm wide and 1125means yes you guessed it the belt is 1125mm long.
What engine have you got as it looks like a disco lump thats been modded.
Normal def 200tdi has a belt driving the alt and water pump from the crank pulley nearest the engine.
Pas belt is in the front pulley groove and is just a short belt, to remnove it you have to actually undo and remove all the pas mounting bolts 4 off.

I must confess I have absolutely no idea what engine's in it other than it's a diesel. Only bought it recently with very little paperwork. Need to do a bit more research I think. Is there a disco belt that would fit?

Thanks for the help guys, but I'm struggling to find belts based on their dimensions, they only seem to be listed by part number. Does anyone have a part number for a 1125mm belt?

I menat to repost as i went out of the house on the way to the pub i looked at my spare tdi disco engine and thought oh it was a disco lump, then forgot!

Thanks for that Lynall. I couldn't find anything on the Halfords website and went down there today. After half an hour, they couldn't find anything either. Useless shop
