Morning all,
Curious (spurious?) beeps. Recently, just now and again when driving along, I get the 'beep beep beep' as though a door is open. No message shows and I can't see or feel anything wrong.
Am I right in thinking that there are two different sounders? The deeper, more threatening one and the lighter beepy one? This is the latter. Has happened in all various driving situations for no apparent reason. Any ideas please?
I suspect it might be just to keep me on my toes 'cos I've been saying how trouble free and good it has been recently:D

Only ever seen one sounder but it could certainly be used to make different sounds.
Bonnet micro switch is a possibility as are door micro switches.

I had random 3 beeps recently. Very occasionally when cold it would shows Gearbox Overheat !! Eventually found it was the transmission cooler thermal sensor intermittent. It would break for a second and beep, and then re-make before the error message came up.

Replaced sensor and it's resolved.

Got a feeling I saw the same error in MrGorsky's last time I was in it. How much was the sensor? Quick job?

Do the internal lights come on?

Had a dodgy contact in the boot once that would cause that. Good clean of the button and associated gubbins sorted it.

Challenge was getting the old screws out of the cooler, but was easier to grab the screw heads with mini mole-grips after I chipped way the dodgy sensor plastic housing. New one simply screws on and plugs in.

Wiring was broken where it entered the sealed plastic on the sensor, so not easily repaired.

@MrGorsky - might be worth checking that wire when you get back.
