Been a while!

Hi all,

Been a member for a long time but also been without a Land Rover for a long time!

I had a D1 years ago but sold it as it was a 2.0 MPI and was quite frankly awful!

My partner drives a TD4 Freelander and I’ve just left a deposit on a D2 TD5.

Never owned a TD5 before but excited to get back into proper 4x4 life.

Here’s a few pics, it already has a winch bumper, sump guard and rock sliders. Not sure if there’s much done engine wise although I did notice an EGR blank.

Plans are to add a straight through exhaust for a bit of noise and possibly some additional lighting. I’ll be joining Norfolk and Suffolk 4x4 Response too!

Tidy looking disco too.

Pity about the MPI as they rare as hens teeth now. Was this an import because I seem to recall Italians had a load of these.

It was a UK one as far as I know! Was a ‘96 base spec in Green. Terrible MPG!

So I’ve had it a couple of weeks and started to do a few bits:



US number plate
Amber strobes
42” light bar
CB
Cleaned MAP sensor
Shackles/swivel mounts fitted
Painted some of the guards yellow
Turbo back straight through exhaust but not yet fitted.

Going to use it as is for a few months whilst putting some money aside for some modulars and a remap.

Enjoying being back in the LR world!

Photobucket have taken action against me fer having a free account and going above the 25meg picture viewing limit. So they have smudged it. Eye have an imgur account so eye will put it on there. Eye move pic's across whenever eye find them or add the word fixx to the post to find it later on, but eye have posted a lot over the years. Currently on 248.25meg.

As their biggest customer (and therefore advertiser) they should give you a gold one for your dedication

So I’ve had it a few weeks and I’m addicted again already.. I was definitely better off financially before this but it’s so much fun.

I’ve made a few changes, no ONE LIFE LIVE IT sticker yet though....

It’s not yet finished as I can’t currently drive it without the lift kit fitted as the tyres are too big!

2” lift going on Saturday along with wide arches.

33’s! Well, pretty much - 285/75/16. The camber is just the photo, there’s none in person!

They look big on that!

My mate runs 31’s on his Disco 2. Has 265/65 with a lift iirc.
Mine are 275/75 little bit too big for his but same pcd as P38.

Yeah I think it’s just because it’s on standard suspension. Below are the wheels on the TD5 I got them from, I’m having the lift kit and arches off this too.. they look more fitting with the higher suspension!
