Becam v8

Have a relative who has a becam unit failer or thats whats been diagnosed. Is it a swappout job or is there more to it??sort of costs are involved, thank for any replys recieved, Bazz

What car? If it's a P38 then I guess you mean BECM. Often what is diagnosed as a BECM failure is actually a burnt under bonnet fuse box, bad connections or a duff battery. If it is the BECM then it's not a simple swap out job, it has to be coded to the car.

Yep nail on head it is the becm unit in a v8 p38. Have bin told he could get it sorted for about £300 and then the cost of fitting and setting up. Bazz.

The BECM often gets the blame, I'd look at all the other possibilities first.
