Bearing noise

i have been runing my freelander in 2 wheel drive for a while and it ran very quite, last week i fitted a recon ird box and put prop shaft back on, im know getting like a dry bearing rumble but its only their when prop is on the car. ird and its bearings are new aswell, it has been mentioned that it could be the cv joint on front prop. ANYONE ANY IDEA,S

vcu bearings

The two bearings either side of the VCU. Easy to replace, there is a guide on the forum somewhere, if you can't find it PM Hippo.

i replaced the vcu and bearings 18 months back, do u think they could have gone already.

Depends which ones your bought, some of the cheap ones you are lucky if they last a week. Take prop off and spin the bearings you can usually hear or feel if they are noisey

Had mine replaced by a garage about 15 months age. Changed them myself a few weeks ago for the GKN bearings, hopefully they will last a bit longer this time.
