Its about time to get my rusting and worryingly thin battery tray sorted so i am going to buy a replacement from YRM solutions, paint it, line it with camping mat foam and try and knock up some sort of battery tray/clamps. I am running one battery but thinking about putting a small compressor in there too, and fitting a battery isolator. Just wondering if anyone has any pics of how they have their battery tray setup? Any ideas would be appreciated. Many thanks

Just make sure ya Live terminal is covered. :( for a clamp 2 fencing bolts and a short length of flat bar will do the job.. Though I'd use some rubber mat (cheap car mats) rather than PU foam as the rubber will resist the acid better if you have a spillage.

I just have two lengths of M6 studding through the bottom of the box and then a piece of ali angle held down over the top of the batteries in mine. Wing nuts on the top so it's nice and easy to remove if necessary.

On the compressor note, i wouldnt put it under the seat though. It gets a bit hot if used alot and in that space there is no air flow. Also if your battery tray is anything like mine it has a hole in it and the water gets in when you go through a ford or big puddle.

Or are we talking compressor to be used occasionally like for tyres etc? I was on a roll and thought about one for lockers.
