Some time ago I was in a difficult situation when I went back to my vehicle and found that the main battery was flat. I was in an isolated location.

I want to buy an instrument which will tells me the state of the batteries, how much charge they’re holding, whether they’re still in good condition.
What should I buy? Could anyone please suggest a specific make/model? I want a quality instrument, one made in Korea/Japan/Spain/Italy/Germany/Holland etc. (not a piece of rubbish that I can’t rely on).

To be honest, Barbados, I didn't understand your reply. I had a look at the link, though. Thanks. In which part of the description of this product did you notice the country of origin? (90-day guarantee... sounds great).

Get a cheap led volt meter of eBay and wire it in to an igntion switched live. I've done this and can monitor my battery level with igntion on and then when engine is running what the alternator is kicking out..
