battery removal

Hi all,
Sorry to bother you with this, but having finally got the battery off due to the rusty nut spinning, the rear window fully opens . Not having a garage to park in and wanting to put battery on charge, this sort of gives us another problem ! Had the freelander a year now and this is the first problem we have encountered, so not all bad news. Hope you can help,
