HI, would anyone know how to solve my problem. Due to ill health i left my 1999 4.6 standing for a long time and the battery went flat. just put a new battery in to gain access to the car i had to unlock the door with the key. when the new battery was connected it set off the alarm, the remote is not working so i cannot use the central locking. according to the manual if the battery is diconected the key has to synchronised in the ignition but can only be syncronised it the car is not in the alarm mode. in short i cannot sync the key because the alarm is armed and i cant use the remote because the key is not sycned. any ideas would very useful.

you will need to enter the eka code you will find this in your owners pack, if not you will have to contact the dealer to obtain it!

follow these instructions: Security and Alarm System Operation & Diagnosis on Range Rover 4.0/4.6/P38A to enter the eka code.

when thats entered you sync the key by turning it in the lock and holding the corresponding lock/unlock button whilst doing so.

you will have to set all the windows and the sunroof, to do this you need to take them through thier full range.

hope this helps you
