ayup folk's,the battery light on my 300tdi keeps coming on it dosent stay on all the time and often varies in brightness ive put a new battery on it and the alternator is doing it's job right, somtimes if i go over a pothole or bump it flickers or goes out,i'm thinking earthing prob? but how many earthing piont's are there that i should be looking for that would directly or indirectly cause this,i dont lose any charge from the bat even when the light's are on and all electrics work fine.

thank's for any help

Check the engine earth strap to the block, and the battery negative to the body, it usually goes to a dedicated stud on the inner wing after passing through the fusebox.

Check also the tightness of the alternator connections (be warned that they are live) particularly the warning light terminal.

Our wire had broken off the warning light terminal when we stripped the engine down, it was just laying against the end of the terminal.
