Thought it was all going too well....... Just popped out to drop something off at a friends...... Left the car on the road with the side lights on for 2 minutes... Come back to car, start it drive off and notice battery light is on......... Any usual suspects

Don't know if it's just me but the hippo seems to have started smoking a bit on startup since the battery light came on..... Could these be related??

On a positive note, too the undergraduate off and noticed a little pipe sticking out of the arch trim on the passenger side.... Does this mean I have a fuel burning heater???

Yes and yes again. I'm kind of wondering how a young Dustin Hoffman got stuck to the underside of the front of your car?

I'm sure I read somewhere that if the voltage is not high enough it effects the injectors which will cause smoking. 'Should' go once a new alternator is fitted. Have fun doing the belts... ;)

Cheers duncan

Got them out........ Having a break for a warm up!!!!

When I undo the aircon pump to move aside, do I take the belt off or can that stay on?

Well got the new alternator on an all seems well...... No more smoke either.

Just need to get the fbh to fire up now...... Pulled fuse 5 but still nothing. Noticed that I don't have a fuse in position 6.... Is this right??
