battery light problem .

hi, can anyone help, land rover discovery 200tdi,
my battery light comes on when i turn off the engine and the light goes out when i start it up but its drainning the battery over night , i have checked the wires on the battery and alternater.

It's an alternator problem, maybe diode pack .

I'd agree, sounds like yer alternator is in need of some tlc.

Take the alternator off and get it to a local auto electrician ask them to check it over and fix it. Shouldn't be expensive, certainly cheaper than a new alternator imo.
