If i don`t use my td5 for 2 weeks, the battery goes flat, its a new battery as the last one did the same,I have a Mitsubishi L200 for work so Disco doesnt get used as much as it should, would this also be the reason for the green m&s lights coming on.
How long should a Discovery battery stay charged up for?
Chris

Not yet tested the current drain on the battery, need to charge battery again first then I can get it out into the yard.

I had the same on my TD5 110 and it turned out to be alarm/immobiliser which drains the battery. My neighbour's transit does the same.

I fixed the problem with one of these.

When I know I'm not going to be using the Landy for a few weeks, I just stick that behind the windscreen and connect the clips to the battery. It has never failed to start since.

One day I wil get around to fixing a cigarette lighter plug on the outside of the battery box.

I have one of those solar panels from Maplins, never use it as the currant produced is very low,but it may help to keep it charged longer, could try it if we ever see the sun again. The car is always parked in the garage so may need to put the solar panel on the garage roof.First job is to find whats draining the battery.

Where do i find the antenna for the remote locking/alarm?
Is it possible to take the fuse out of the alarm system,or is it linked in to other circuits.

The antenna should be fixed to inside of the the rear offside passenger window, look for a thin black strip that looks like a rear window heater element. Simply removing the alarm system fuse may well stop the problem, but the inconvenience of having to replace it and re-sync the alarm every time you want to drive the vehicle may be a slight inconvenience.
