The current output of a number plate sized solar panel is so low that it will barely cover the BECM standby current of 30ma so you can leave it on all the time no problem.

Thanks to you all for your info!
I think I have found the cause to the problem; I have been working on the car in daylight so haven’t noticed it before.
We i went to drive it tonight, I shut the door and all the interior lights went off apart from 2 in the back!
My daughter had them on on the last drive. We were all tired and it was late at night plus I have limo window tints all round the rear which makes it hard to see the interior lights when on.
This must have been what caused it! (I hope!)

I didn’t intend to come across as being rude Ratty, just wanted to be sure that I didn’t want to ruin my new battery! Sorry mate!!

I think I’ll get a solar charger to be safe...

Thanks all again!
