looking at TD6 diesels this weekend hopefully and read a few stories of battery drain on them? is there any way of checking it while im there, and is it a common fault? and more importantly, if it is, is it a costly repair?

Thanks in advance

Not easy to check while viewing the vehicle.

This problem will only become apparent if the car is left for a day or so.

If there is any documentation, look to see if the First Stage Resistor in the HVAC system has been changed, as a faulty one can cause battery drain so may have been replaced in order to rectify it.

Take someone with you and ask the seller if the vehicle has this problem, as well as any coolant loss, transmission or suspension issues. You can then take it back if it turns out it does.

Good luck!

cheers mate
Will check the documentation, will it be obvious somewhere? or done at a routine service? and if it wasnt done, is it expensive to get done if it needs doing?

Will be taking a friend so if i ask if it has any problems, i have a witness to him mis-selling it to me? Also read a bit about Section 75 for credit card protection too, just in case

Thanks again

:)

Main dealer would probably try to charge you that much.

If you go ahead and buy a Range Rover, find yourself a friendly local Land Rover specialist. They are worth their weight in gold!

was gonna say do you know of any in the Herts/Essex area but i see you're 'oop north'

thanks again
