any advice wouldof course be very much apprecheted

New rf box is the only real cure, expensive but boy are they worth it, my battery drain drove me insane. Man out to reprogrammed the eka code, all the interior lights coming on just before it died and the though of burning out locks ! Bite the bullet before you end up spending loads on the problems it causes.

hi,

indeed i had the same issue, and in a 4.6 and having to drive this every day for miles to keep it charged was costing me a fortune.

i took it to Les Pauls, specialise in RR's - they told me right away it was the RF receiver, got a new one installed and bosh everythign has been find.

does your central locking work?

Hi Yes the central locking does work on the car, i just use the key, it does not bother me in the slightest that buttons do not work etc, it does not even have a battery in the key etc, that's why i am thinking if i pull the lead out of the RF receiver, will it stop the BECM waking up ? and would it effect any other part of the car ? also the battery cut off could also help ??

Trust me you need to get a new rf receiver or you will end up with burnt out locks . The battery drain is the bit you see what you dont see is the cycling that the becm does and the door locks will burn out - new receiver connect the alarm etc you probably will find youer insurance is void unless you inform them you have altered the car
