Hello folks. Am nearly at the end of my tether with a wee leak in my 95 classic. Its def a rain leak getting in somewhere and is coming in at the o/s footwell on the wall opposite the accelerator pedal, nearest the front wing. Ive put a hosepipe all over the truck and no water gets in. It rained like buggery last night here and this morning the footwells all wet. Strangely its also doing it on the passenger side. Any one got any ideas where it might be coming in from? I think the windscreen seals ****ed but I cant understand why the hosepipe didnt show it up. I blasted the bastard for a good 20 mins with the hose and DRY AS A BONE. But a wee bit of rain and in it comes.......:mad::mad::mad:

Hi.

Mine doe's that.................(no takers?)........on the passenger side and i think it is the drain from the sunroof. Mine is off to the restorer's when the mot runs out so will post with findings.

I wondered about the sunroof drain too. I gave it a particularly vicious hosing though.....whatever it is it seems to take a while to seep through. As i look out the window its blowing a typical Argyll gale today, so will see how much has come in today !

Used to get this with my Mondeo, turned out to be blocked drains under the front scuttle/cabin air intake panel, coupled with worn seals on interior air inlets.

you could sling food colouring over the car, the bits that get stained first are where the water is getting in, then give it a good clean with washpowder, find the leak and clean the car in one swoop!!!

Take the front door cards off & see if the plastic weather sheets that should be stuck firmly to the door frame are present AND stuck on.
Common cause of mysterious footwell flooding on many cars. Were missing of mine when I got it & every time it rained I could have gone fishing inside the car! If they are missing or not stuck properly the best stuff is this sort of thing BOLT ON PANEL SEALER BUTYL ROLL STRIP SEALANT BONDING on eBay (end time 11-Oct-09 18:21:44 BST) You can use silicone sealant to stick plastic sheet on but it doesn't stick as well.
Other point on the C is inside the scuttle. There are a couple of holes that are just taped over & the tape ages & comes unstuck. Scuttle off job to check & rectify. Yep, had that one too.

i had that. it was from the sunroof drain pipes right enough. but the problem was the inner panel had rotted away wher the pipe had gushed water over the years. shine a torch through the decker panel or take the kick trim off and look up. you will probably see day light. check the other side as well as it can cause electrical malfunctions when the water hits thr relays

Rain water leaks are like that, sometimes no amount of hosing or even using a car-wash will show up a leak, but the first time it rains......

Windscreen seal, drain tubes from roof that run inside pillars split or off or one that had me guessing awhile, very small holes(corrosion in floor -sometimes hard to spot!
