Banter / Misinformation - where do you draw the line?

Well as a newbeee, I'd like to make the following points:-

1. I knew before posting what to expect on forums as similar experience on others.
2. Like me, when you buy a new car, you look for all the info on the net especially forums like this. However, as new. I don't know all the technical terms to search for & would look to here for help in pointing in right direction. I would hope that the most common problems would be concisely collated & put as a sticky.
3. Lastly, I would hope that I always answered newbee queries with a helpful comment or link, rather than flame them with contempt. If someone asked the same thing time after time then my reply would always be helpful as I,d been there before or know the link to the info.

Just my opinion.

I agree with Endie and I don't think there is anything wrong with a member making a suggestion once in a while with the intention of improving the forum experience for everyone. Perfectly ok with the laddishness and the baptisms of fire but like any kind of ragging, its only fun if we take care to make sure that everyone is having a good time. Without naming names there are those on here who are nothing but bullies. Endie's main point though is that all's fair if you also help out sometimes, people who have nothing to do with Rangies coming in just to trash the newbies are just plonkers.

Ed. When I was a newbie I think I probably asked the very dumbest of questions. I was very lucky to get helpful replies, it made me a forum regular and made me want to contribute back, within the limits of my meagre knowledge and abilities. If I'd been torched on the first day I wouldn't have know it was all in fun and would have left. This forum has helped me a lot as well as given me plenty of laughs. I hope it manages to keep its happy medium.

I dunno, I haven't seen many outright bullies here. TBH, there are sensitive areas, but if you read the forum, you'll get to know the unwritten rules and learn to avoid them.

i see loads of banter and dish it out me self. WHos been given beivable false info though? fake psi's etc is not on. Calling someone a effing £$%^&* is perfectly fine.

The OP int seriously suggesting that NON Rangey owners keep quiet and mind their manners whilst in the Rangey section, IS HE???? WTF's he gonna do get his butler to bash us. or serve us tetley tea instead of Earl Grey?

FFS grow a set..

Oh and ya want abput 88PSI in ya fronts and 129.89769522003593523758PSI in ya rear!!

bloke at work told me he runs 50-55 psi all round on his fender currently. I ithink thats mad, but hes been running landies for years. 90 could be believed.

Needed 45 in the backs with a load up on the 7.50's I had to stop the sidewalls flexing horribly on corners  found pumping that much in scary enough!
