This is gonna be an absolute weapon, I can feel it in me water
Haha thank you! Ive got the majority planned out already just time, money and time.

Nice thing is I can refer back to my own 110 thread to remind and inspire me ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

I have spoken to Safety Devices who where kind enough to offer me a discount on a cage, given they did save my life!

So thats on the way but wont be fitted until the suspension is beefed up.

Cruise control in! Courtesy of Empire Tuning, excellent kit. Very much plug and play, much better than my attempt on the old 110.

Empires kit also gives an option for a tacho! Which is very nice.

Whole thing took about 45mins to install inc modifying the cowl (they do provide a pre modified one though!)

Great upgrade, easy to install. Best bet is find your own D2 switch tho!

If anyones interested (no financial gain to me btw, just a good product I helped with)

OEM Anti Roll Bar with SuperPro Bushes fitted today!

Bit awkward but easy enough. Trick is to assemble the diff side drop link off car and slot it in.

Made a world of difference to the body roll without affecting flex off road too much. Will have to add a 20mm spacer when its lifted, stop it from inverting.

Soundproofing today!

With my old 110 didnt think all the Soundproofing i did made much of a difference but turns out made an enormous difference!

The CSW is rather loud by comparison so got to work doing it this morning.

First job was to clean, acid etch and fill all the holes from the rear seats

Ali corrision wasnt as bad as expected but the areas around both middle row seatbelts and seat mounts need repair. Wont be getting new panels as I can cut the old rot out and tig new plates in but thats for a later date.

Roughly 25sqm of dodomatt fitted, not perfect but more than good enough. Made sure to leave any bolts/screws exposed for future removal.

Also did the middle row floor pan.

Huge difference already, much less road noise from the tyres! For ยฃ70 (got half left over) welll worth it!

Also managed to get the MUD locker fitted under the cubby box and aux fuse box fitted so i can go head and wire in the heated seats and hard wire the fridge in when time allows.

Found a fun little feature as well! When in turn the 110 off the sun roof closes automatically! How modern!

First show in the 110!

Just happened to be all black 110s ๐Ÿ˜…

Always a lovely time with Empire ๐Ÿ˜Š

Slowly organising everything and getting everything ready to strip the big VNT off the D2 and reinstall into the 110. Never easy when everything is bespoke/custom ๐Ÿ˜ช

Doing all that next weekend, hopefully all goes smoothly. Then the D2 will be up for sale!

As above, if its Belvoir how was it? Read few posts on here people weren't impressed ๐Ÿ™

It is!

Yeah ive heard the same from alot of people as well. Tbf I barely left the Empire tent, super busy.

Phone signal was a major issue as couldnt take any card payments.

Seemed well organised, open, spacious and fair amount on. Missing quite a few of the usual traders which was a shame.

Food stalls where massively overpriced, worse than usual. As was the bar if im honest

Best quote I got for undersealing was ยฃ1200 in lanoguard ๐Ÿ˜’ no thanks

So few tins of Buzzwelds WAR and the help of works 10tonne Merlo "Big John"

200bar Jetwash, FXDegreaser and Big John

Manually took any heavy rust off post jetwash, let it dry and extra dired with a couple leafe blowers ๐Ÿคฃ

Quick break with the wife at the cinema and lunch then back for a second coat!

Sent the D2 ECU off to Empire HQ to be converted to Defender software and a couple software tweaks.

Also started working on the lift, totally forgot how much is involved to do it properly. Last time it was as and when parts failed over a few years but this time I want the suspension on before the cage is on so im not driving a top heavy boat!

Got Pioneer sorting some extended brake lines for me, including across rear axle and direct to caliper front lines. Makes doing calipers, shafts, hubs etc.. am absolute breeze and a huge time saver!

Also managed to get a pair of A Frame arms for ยฃ50, couldnt believe the prices from breakers at 170+!!!

Just means I can build up a wide angle A Frame with superpro bushes and do a direct swap.

Gywn Lewis cranked rear arms

Designed, laser cut & welded some HD Front turrets, not finished yet so no pics.

Same for some HD spring retainers. Not doing dislocation cones, not a fan.

Laser cut some spacer plates for the anti roll bar too, cant be spending ยฃ40 on a block of steel when I can make it ๐Ÿ˜

Bailey Morries wide angle HD rear prop...๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

A lot of parts... ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿซ

Actual suspension set up will be the same as the old 110.

OME Springs + Koni HT Raids.

They gave an excellent ride with all the added weight on the old 110 so why change it? ๐Ÿ˜

Aiming to get all of this done before the end of the year, time is not my friend at the moment!

This was alot easier when I lived at home ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Pics!

Got all the bits to do the 3.5" snorkel again! Same design as last time, just stainless this time and a laser cut plate for the wing top, so a better fit! ๐Ÿ˜

Still learning to Tig weld so its not perfect but much better than the last miged one and will be far less clean up.

Ive left the slide over joint in place which Ill silicone, so that when the cage is on I can adjust it and fully weld it.

Need to cut the A Pillar tabs, clean it up for a smooth flush look and fix my wing so its not bent ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Finally wired my heated seats in! Made a little adapter loom from the OE wiring to the Corbeau seats. Tooks all of 10 mins, cant for the life of me work out why I didnt do that on my old 110 ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Have found a major downside though! As ive uses the 3" downpipe I made for the D2 I hadnt quite noticed that when in the Defender it touches on the chassis rail.

So you can imagine on a long drive the noise is unbearable ๐Ÿ˜ฌ ive ordered 2.75" pipe to make a new down pipe. Then will salvage the old downpipe for parts to make the midbox

Made the 2.75" Downpipe after work today with help from a friend. All tigg
ed rather than miged, Looks lovely!

All 304 Stainless with 10mm flanges designed and laser cut by me ๐Ÿ˜

Made a world of difference! So much quieter now, 10x less vibration much more pleasant to drive. Well worth the ยฃ180 in pipe.

Going to recycle the old downpipe into the eventual switched mid box like I had before.
