As thread title suggests, how much do you reckon for a garage (local independent) to supply and fit both front CV joints?

I know its a piece of string idea but I am looking at VERY ROUGH figure!!!

I would do it myself BUT I am currently renting a house with zero space to start taking landy apart. Its on street parking so not an option at the mo.

I was told that the CV joints vary too. How do I know what ones to get? I have a p reg 300tdi.

i do all my jobs out in the street, i'v done most things from small jobs right up to engine swaps and stripping cars down to just the shell. if u aint got a driveway it gotta b done.

Another question.

I now have knocked the Diff lock lever and cannot seem to engage normal drive on the diff lock. It will engage with the lever fully over to the left and the bottom with dash light on but cannot have normal drive (without light on)

What's the trick?

I would also highly recommend doing it yourself.

I snapped a halfshaft within 3 months of picking up my One Ten :( and had to remove it, along with the diff (which I found out is pretty heavy when you are lying on your back trying to remove it only inches from your face - ouch), and all the shaft bits and pieces etc all on the side of the road. If it was just the CV then that is an easy job.

Ok, I swore a lot during the process and had to ask a lot of questions on forums but the sense of satisfaction when I had put it all back together was immense.

There are a few pics on my site at Land Rover One Ten County Station Wagon - Repairs, Part Numbers & How to's, my diary of living with my landy

Go on, give it a try!
