with a balancer..or get a tube..

google, far to long to write it out.

it dont av to be for rr v8 any twin carby thing will give you the principles..ie mgb,

I have not balanced twin carbs, SU or Stromberg, since the 'seventies & only ever on straight 6 engines but the principle is very simple. Either buy a balancing kit, which I've never used, or remove the air-cleaner(s) & use a flexible tube (rubber/plastic etc) long enough for you to place one end close to the carb intake & the other end to your ear. With the engine idling place the tube partially across the intake, not into it & adjust the carbs individually until the 'hiss' sounds the same from both carbs. Check the throttle linkage opens both carbs together.

Any old haynes tc manual will do. There is a pre set point that needs setting first before you start tweeking. All linkages must be a good fit and all internals in good fettle. Lots of info on the tube and goog. Have fun ;)

Try these instructions which I've used to set up mine. Depending on what you want to spend it's worth buying an air-flow meter (the one from Burlen works better than the Gunson one) and also a Gunson exhaust gas meter. My engine was much smoother after doing this and I've just moved them over to a 3.9 engine that I've just rebuilt and I'm in the process of doing them again.
